GACC SEEKS PARTNERSHIP WITH GRAPHIC IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION


 

The leadership of GACC paid a visit to the Graphic Communications Ltd. To hold talks with the Managing Director, Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal and the Editor of Daily Graphic, Mr. Ransford Tetteh to discuss how Graphic communication Group Ltd will focus more on issues related to transparency and accountability in their reportage. The first discussion held with the Managing Director stressed the need for the organization to build the capacity of some of their journalist to focus on investigative journalism as they are very rare and very important in the fight against corruption. Ms. Anna Bossman, further encouraged the organization to feature more articles in the area of anti-corruption and further more education for the youth to enhance public education on corruption. The Managing Director agreed that it was an important area and that the organization will review its policies to enable it focus more on anti-corruption.

The Managing Director of Graphic Communications Group Ltd., Mr. Ibrahim Awal in a meeting with members of GACC Executive Council Members (Chairman, Rev. Dr. Fred Deegbe, Vice Chair, Ms. Anna Bossman, Member , Mr. Kojo Asante, and Exec. Sec. Mrs. Florence Dennis.

In a meeting with the Mr. Ransford Tetteh, he explained the challenges that Editors go through in selecting stories for their newspapers and one of the frustrations they find is that, society does not seem to respond to some of the educational issues they feature. He however noted that they are all committed to the fight against corruption and will place emphasis on those issues. He however requested members of GACC to bring in articles to be published in the newspapers.
